Computer software is sprite of the computer system . without computer software computer is nothing more than electronic junk. we can say that hardware is platform for software. software is only a code which is programmed by the programmer or software engineer and hardware just execute the code.
There are different software they are mostly divided as follow :
1. operating software
2.Utility software
3.Application software
1. Operating software : Operating software is the main software of the computer system we can say that platform for other software no computer can run without operating software. example windows 97 ,windows 98,windows 2003, windows server 2003, windows XP, Linux , uniux, Mac os (for apple hardware computer)
2.Utility software : These are the software where we don't work rather than these are used by system of application software for work be done. example adobreader, flash player, java etc.
3.Application Software: These are the main software from which work are done in computer and for working in application software there must be operating software which support application software for working. most of the work are done in application software example most common and popular Msword etc.
